Host A Drive

Thank you for your interest in the Community Blood Bank!  As the only provider of blood and blood products to all the hospitals in Erie, Elk, McKean, Tioga and Warren counties and Titusville Area Hospital, and the preferred supplier to Allegany, Potter and Chautauqua Counties, we rely on organizations like yours to maintain a safe and adequate blood supply.  The need for blood is constant, so it is crucial that every scheduled blood drive be successful – lives literally depend on it.

Here are some general requirements for hosting a blood drive:


Photo I.D. - Effective January 1, 2004, CBB requires mandatory identification of all donors prior to donating.  Government issued Photo ID is preferred.

Appointment Schedule - Due to the limited space inside the bloodmobile, the appointment schedule assures that donors will be comfortable and complete the donation process in a reasonable period of time. We should discuss how potential donors will be able to sign up – will it be posted, should they call you, etc.?

Promotional Materials – These will detail where the Blood Drive will take place, the time, date and how to sign up.  Posters are provided to you, and we will also provide any other promotional material you might need – flyers, paycheck inserts, table toppers, stickers, etc.

General Requirements – The company/group must have an appointed or volunteer chairperson (Donor Chair).  If that person is not available the day of the draw, a designee must be assigned as a contact person for CBB staff for the duration of time that CBB is at the facility.
